Rina Chikano
Rina Chikano (近野 莉菜, Chikano Rina?, born April 23, 1993 in Tokyo), is a member of the Japanese idol group AKB48.[1] Chikano debuted with AKB48 as a 5th generation research student in 2007.
It took Chikano longer than usual to get promoted to a member's position when all other research students had either quit or been promoted; making her one of the last remaining research students of her generation. On January 20, 2009, it was announced that Chikano would be transferred to a new agency, Itoh Company Group, a production company focusing on young idols. On March 26, 2009, Rina was promoted to Team K, and as of May 21, 2009, Chikano's official ameba blog opened. Less than a year followed when AKB48's teams re-shuffled; it was announced at AKB48 Senbatsu Member Sokaku Matsuri concert on August 23, 2009 that Chikano is to be added to the New Team B making her the only member of the old Team K right before the shuffle who has never been on an A-side single in AKB48.
On January 22, 2010, Chikano's GREE blog was opened.
Along with her agency mate, Team K's Reina Fujie, Chikano is currently Mother Farm's image girl since 2009.
